A new study shows conclusive evidence that #organic crops, and the food made from them, are more healthy than their conventional counterparts. In this study, researchers conducted a meta-analysis on 342 peer-reviewed publications looking at the health benefits of organic agriculture, and found that organic crops have higher antioxidant levels, lower cadmium levels, and less pesticide residues than non-organic crops. NEW STUDY: Organic food has more of the antioxidant compounds linked to better health than conventional food, and lower levels of toxic metals and pesticides, according to the most comprehensive scientific meta-analyses to date. "The crucially important thing about this research is that it shatters the myth that how we farm does not affect the quality of the food we eat," said Helen Browning, chief executive of Soil Association, which campaigns for organic farming.
