Earlier this week, our Savvy Organic Shopper visited Whole Foods Market’s Facebook page and discovered that, today (Friday) only, organic whole chickens are on sale for $1.69 per pound. Knowing that the chickens were raised cage-free without the use of antibiotics, and that they were fed 100 percent organic feed, she couldn’t resist: she drove to her nearest Whole Foods, grabbed one chicken to cook up immediately, and several others to put in the freezer and enjoy on another occasion!
