A basic sugar cookie meets deceptively healthy fruit-filled Ultimate Organics™ Certified Organic Reds n' Things® in this easy recipe certain to warm the hearts of its recipients.
Makes about 50 two-inch cookies.
Dry ingredients: 2 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 16 scoops Ultimate Organics™ Reds n' Things® 3/4 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt
Wet ingredients: 1 cup unsalted butter, softened 1 cup sugar 1 egg, lightly beaten 1 tbsp milk
Directions Blend dry ingredients (flour through salt) in a large bowl. Beat butter and sugar together with an electric mixer until pale in color. Add egg and milk to the butter/sugar mixture on low speed. Gradually add flour mixture until it pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Turn out dough onto wax paper on a hard surface. Divide dough in half, wrap in wax paper and place in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Once chilled as above, turn out dough onto cold, flat surface and roll out to 1/4 inch thick between two sheets of wax paper. Cut desired shape with cookie cutter, place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 375 degrees F for 7-10 minutes, rotating sheets half way through baking. Let cool on sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
Can be stored in an air-tight container for up to 1 week.
