1.)Try topping Van's Organic Waffles with apricot butter or apricot syrup.
2.) Waffle Strawberry Tower: Stack sliced strawberries and whipped cream in between each waffle, top with powdered sugar, and there you have a strawberry tower—simple to make and with layers of fun to pick off.
3.) Top Van's Organic Waffles with Buttered Strawberry Sauce
Buttered Strawberry Sauce Recipe
Makes 3 cups/ (serving size: 1/2 cup)
Ingredients:
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 (11.5-ounce) can strawberry-banana nectar
1 tablespoon stick margarine or butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups sliced strawberries
Preparation: Combine the first 4 ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in margarine, vanilla, and strawberries.
4.) Top Van's Organic Waffles with an Avocado & Fruit Topping
Avocado & Fruit Salad Topping
Serves 4 (each serving equals 3/4 cup of fruit or vegetables)
Ingredients:
2 red delicious apples, cut into ½ inch cubes
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 California Avocados, cut into ½ inch cubes
2 kiwi fruits, sliced
1 banana sliced
1 pint strawberries, sliced
1 pint blueberries
5 tablespoons honey
¼ tsp mace (East Indian spice similar to nutmeg)
Directions: Place apples in a bowl with lemon juice to keep from browning. Add all other ingredients. Gently mix fruit salad topping. Serve on top of waffles, with or without liquid syrup.
