Serves 8 to 10
1 cup Florida Crystals certified organic sugar 4 lemons 2 oranges, halved and thinly sliced 12 whole cloves 3 cinnamon sticks 1-1/2 quarts strong brewed tea 2 cups water 1 liter ginger ale 2-1/2 cups of light rum (optional)
In a non-aluminum saucepan, combine all ingredients except soda. Over low heat, bring to boil, stirring to bruise fruit. Cool 1 to 2 hours. To serve, combine with ice in pitcher or punch bowl. Add soda and rum (if desired).
