With nearly 80,000 largely unregulated agriculture chemicals on the market today, according to the National Toxicology Program, it is not surprising a number of new studies are associating these substances with disease, and drawing clear recommendations for consumers to protect their own health by choosing to eat certified organic foods.
The Boulder region is the epicenter of the organic movement. Organic pioneers including Horizon Organic, Rudi`s Organic Bakery, Silk, Allegro Coffee and Grant Family Farms, created their brands here believing organically produced foods are better for the environment, rural communities, the health of farmers and farm animals, and ultimately the people who end up eating the food.
