This week, our Savvy Organic Shopper was looking through her Safeway weekly flyer and found a coupon that would enable her to buy a 64-ounce container of O Organics milk for $2.99 at Safeway stores in northern Virginia. In other words, for just 37 cents per 8-ounce serving, she could enjoy milk that was not only rich in vitamins and calcium, but also made without the use of antibiotics or synthetic growth hormones. Additionally, according to a recent study by researchers at the University of Newcastle, by choosing organic milk, she would also get less saturated fat and more beneficial fatty acids than if she chose to buy conventionally produced milk. With that price and those benefits, it’s no wonder she hopped in her car and headed to Safeway to cash in on the deal!
