Our Savvy Organic Shopper recently went to Price Chopper in Saratoga Springs, NY in search of a dessert to share with her Valentine. While there, she found a 13-ounce package of Nadja’s Organic Macaroons, containing 24 ready-to-bake bite-sized organic macaroons, on sale for $4.39. She also found a two-ounce package of conventional macaroons for $.99. So, to get the same quantity of conventional macaroons, she would have had to spend $6.44. Given that the organic ones were less expensive and were made without the use of artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives, the choice was obvious: organic offered the sweeter deal!
