On a recent trip to Price Chopper in Oneida, NY our Savvy Organic Shopper found competitive prices on organic romaine hearts. Earthbound Farm’s organic romaine hearts were priced at $3.99; the conventionally grown equivalent was the same price. Given that there was no difference in price, and that the organic lettuce had been raised without the use of toxic and persistent pesticides or other harmful chemicals, it didn’t take long for our Savvy Organic Shopper to make the choice to go organic. She knew it was worth it!
