Our Savvy Organic Shopper and her family were recently invited to watch a college basketball game at a friend’s house. On the way there, she ran into Whole Foods Market in Friendship Heights, MD in search of some snacks to share. While there, she found a 16-ounce bag of 365 Everyday Value Organic blue corn tortilla chips priced at $3.49; the same size bag of conventional blue corn chips was $3.79. She also found a 16-ounce container of 365 Everyday Value Organic salsa for $2.99; the same size jar of conventional salsa was $4.19. Given that the organic items were less expensive and made without the use of GMOs, artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives, she grabbed a couple of each, confident they would score points with the whole group.
