Bagels and cream cheese are among our Savvy Organic Shopper’s favorite breakfast items. Over the weekend, she discovered she was out of them, so she went to Woodman’s in Madison, WI to replenish her stock. While there, she found a bag of organic bagels priced at $4.69; conventionally produced bagels were $2.89. She also found Organic Valley cream cheese for $2.19; conventional cream cheese was being sold for $2.09. So, for around $.30 more per serving (assuming 6 servings), she could buy the organic items and feel confident that they were made in a manner she and her family could trust. For her, that was a deal too good to pass up!
